Hi,
I've been lurking for awhile and have always enjoyed this thread. Thought I'd throw my hat in the ring, as it were...
Me- a chocolate colored Finchley New Era, (not a name I've seen mentioned here but Beaver XXX and I like it),
bought from an M.D.'s estate sale, with a cool old box.

My daughter is wearing an unnamed dress up special she uses to play Mary Poppins (good hats in that movie as well, no fedoras but the chimney sweeps wear caps (the good guys) and the bankers wear bowlers (the bad guys), straw hats for jolly holidays!

Hi,

This hat reminds me in some ways of the hats worn by actor Yves Montand in an old movie, Manon des Sources. Directed by Marcel Pagnol, if my memory is correct.

As I recall, the movie was set in Provence someplace. So you've definitely got the correct hat for your region!

And it looks great, too. :)

Cheers,
Mark

What I call my "Rocky" hat. Usually paired with a warm sweater on a cold day. Please be kind - not only was it a gift, it does do a great job of keeping the snow off my head. :)
