Oh no, no good rye whiskey with vodka.
It is vodka made from rye. The vodka is interesting since it is not tasteless. Shakers makes it and it is fairly spicy for a vodka. The two recipes I was working with was a 3 to 1 vodka to chambord with 3 dashes of orange bitters. That much bitters put it over the edge and it had to be dialed back with 1/4 part rock candy syrup. It was fairly good that way.
Another way was 2 to 1 with a dash of orange bitters. That was kind of flat so I am still working on it.

I was given two bottles of Pisco from my friend's family estate in Peru- Bel La Mi Sangre. One Aromatic Moscatel and one Acholado. What a wonderful smell from the bottle! I took a few sips straight and made a few Pisco Sours.

Which cider?
I had a few Bulmers (Magners) last night - the original apple and one of the new Bulmers Berry Ciders - tastes a little like medicine so wasn't sure of it at first but I kind of like it now - one is plenty though!

Hey BD - hope you're feeling better now! I find cider is the better option if you are heading out for a long evening - too many wines = mega hangover - so these days I tend to switch to cider at the end of the night - it works a charm....
