Lazy Magnolia is a Mississippi brewery which makes a very good Southern Pecan. Goes very well with seafood.

But their best is the Jefferson Stout. Dark beer with a very pleasing aroma and taste.

If you happen to be in Louisiana or Mississippi, these two beers are well worth trying. Not sure if they are available elsewhere, but worth a drive.

I've seen the Southern Pecan at Kroger in TN.
I don't think it's sold as a 6 pack, but rather a "make your own 6 pack."
Different but good, really good.
They were out the last time I went, so I made a 6 pack of Killians Irish Red, Killians Irish Stout, and New Castle Cabbie black ale.
The last one I'll get again, and if I see a 6 pack I'll get one entirely made of the NC.

Plenty of L.M. Southern Pecan down in Birmingham. Pretty decent stuff.
St. Pauli Girl for me tonight.

Yes, I really like the Kroger make-your-own-6-pack idea. It is a lot easier to toss out half of a bad beer than it is 5 1/2 beers. Encourages me to be a lot more adventurous.

The Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan will vary a bit based upon the available supply of pecans, but is generally still good. The Jefferson Stout is much more consistent since that flavor is easier to manage.

I tend to gravitate towards dark beer, and I use various sites (with reviews) to help me with the purchase.
To be honest, the Newcastle Cabbie Black Ale is the best beer I've tasted in quite some time, besides Guinness Extra Stout.
Unfortunately the NC is a limited run.
Maybe with enough support, they'll make it year round.

We have very similar tastes. Add to that Köstritzer/Kostriker Black Lager, Becks Dark (or their Sapphire) and almost any DuppleBock.

The Becks Dark used to be good to me, but for some reason it doesn't taste the same now.
I'll have to look for the Kostriker Black Lager, especially since Beer Advocate gives it really good ratings.
Thanks

Heineken was on sale really cheap, so tonight it's Heineken. Probably tomorrow night too.
