Sugar In My Bowl and Ride Daddy Ride, two compilation CDs of "vintage songs about sex."

The funny part -- the default genre tag in iTunes for both of these CDs was "Religious" lol

This gives me goosebumps, everytime I listen it.
I love bagpipes, and this is one of the best pieces I've ever heared.

Just because you think you're so pretty
Just because you think you're so hot
Just because you think you have something
That nobody else has got
You cause me to spend all my money
You laugh and call me ol' Santy Claus
I'm tellin' you, baby, I'm through with you
Just because, Just because

78s to wonder if I can rent a flame-thrower to get rid of the ice at the end of the driveway by --

Now playing, it's 1933 and one of those records I used to hear all the time on Joe Franklin's radio show, as Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra offer "Lover," a definitive early-thirties dance-band waltz, with Jack Fulton sighing out the vocal. All that's missing is the commercial for Martin Paints, my friends.

Next, ahead to 1937 and one of the big novelty hits of the year, with Russ Morgan and his Music In The Morgan Manner and "The Merry Go Round Broke Down." Without doubt this is the mid-thirties novelty song with the highest 21st Century recognition factor, thanks to its adoption as the Looney Tunes theme song. There's something in the sound of vocalist Jimmy Lewis that makes me wonder if he might be Al Bowlly's long lost American cousin.

Doubtful...
A handful of C-4 wrapped around a dynamite stick
(dual ignition blasting caps with fuse ignitors) busts up (lake/river) ice,
but not advised for driveway use. Charcoal lighter fluid and a match perhaps. ;)

I couldn't agree more, miss. This is an amazing piece of bagpipe work.

I was avoiding ice on the shady side of the road while walking to church today. Since I had my headphone-equipped earmuffs on, I just had to play Rod Stewart's take on "On the Sunny Side of the Street." :)

Right now, my iTunes seems to be on a Creedence Clearwater Revival kick. I'm letting it go for now, but may make it play more Indigo Swing instead.

78s to get ready for the dentist by --

Starting off in 1928 a highly-appropriately-titled piece from Tram, Bix, and Lang, "Wringin' and Twistin'." Which is, alas, what the dentist always has to ask me to stop doing.

Next, ahead to 1939 with Chick Webb and his Orchestra and young Ella getting a rare chance to do a tune that isn't a goofy tisket-tasket novelty, with "Undecided." Chick didn't have long to live when this Decca was made, but you'd never know it.
