New music. It has a classic feel to me. Kind of reminds me of vintage Jackson Brown. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Dear God, thank you for helping me get, and play the melodeon, and harmonica. I am extremely grateful for these gifts! Amen.

Today, I have recorded the Silk Umbrella Polka, also known as Židana Marela, which is a Slovenian folk tune, on my Accordiola Mundinger Diaton III Grand Luxe club accordion. :D

Enjoy! :D

Moon, the missus and I butt heads over contemporary country but she turned me on to Stapleton and now I'm a fan.

I know how you feel. Most new country seems to have been put through the same "production" machine.

Thanks to Moon's post I have purchased this Chris Stapleton album (and shed a tear or two over "Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore") and have put more Stapleton and "SteelDrivers" albums on my Christmas list.

Anyone else have any modern country to recommend?

On a side note ... while searching on iTunes I ran across "Divided and United: Songs of the Civil War" (which is now on its way to be a gift for my father who used to do CW reenacting) and that led to finding and purchasing Tennessee Ernie Ford's 1961 "Songs of the Civil War" albums. We wore those vinyl recordings out as kids.

do you listen to Sturgill Simpson ?

if not check him out

believe me .. I was raised on Hank Sr. , David Allen Coe, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, George Jones , etc ... I cannot stand what they call "country music" today

but guys like Stapleton and Simpson are the real deal
