Recall Catfish in the batting cage and ignoring Bouton's (Ball Four) plea for an interview;
Reggie Jackson tearing up in the outfield after his death. Gone far too soon.

Indeed. That game I was listening to turned out to be some punkins -- Hunter retired sixteen men in a row at one point before losing it in the bottom of the 9th. Six days earlier he had celebrated his twentieth birthday. Ooowee.

Listening right now to "The Magic Key of RCA" in 1937, as Milton Cross introduces a rare radio appearance by George M. Cohan in person. But first, some opera singer is going to sing "The Lady In Red." Once again, ooowee.

I saw the Doris Day story on the television a few days ago, disappointed that 'Perhaps,' wasn't included.

Quarter of one on a weekday, and that means "The Goldbergs" is on. Molly is gibbering about something, and nobody's paying much attention, even though she's the only one who knows what's actually going on. Actually, it's like that every day. Ah, and now Bud Collyer is trying to sell me a box of Duz.

That’s a good one. I downloaded that and put it on a jazz play list.
I’ve been on an Old Time Radio kick lately. J

Bizet, how I love Carmen. Years ago, my wife and I were booked, along with others, to dance at a function. We did an Argentine Tango to Habanera: The tempo had been arranged especially for the dance. Here's the original:

Can you music lovers of the era help me please? I am after records of the thirties and forties, before the 45rpm disc came on the market. The records have to be 45's to go onto my jukebox. Were recordings made on 78's reproduced on 45's, similar to recordings that were re-recorded when CD's replaced vinyl? Do you know of a record dealer that I could contact? Doesn't matter where, the internet has made the world a high street.

A friend of mine is a vintage record dealer. If you're interested in what was available in the USA, you could try asking Denise and her husband Dan.

That is a very good link indeed, thank you very much. I have transferred it to favourites, and will be in touch with them.

On a slightly different tack, I noticed on their e-bay page, a Beatles 45rpm, asking price $75. The sixties were the formative years for my wife and I. We saw the emergence of all the bands that went on to worldwide fame. Like most teenagers, we too bought the latest records, all of which we still have, all first editions too, and still in their original dust sleeves. They haven't seen the light of day in over fifty years. Someday I must catalogue what we have and maybe ask someone like Dan & Denise to value them.

Chances are you may have heard of Taylor Swift, I have read about her in the newspapers, she sings a song called: Shake it Off. Now if you can stomach that so called song, this video of a Delaware cop, singing along to it is hilarious. Enjoy. (play it with the sound down.)

Today, I recorded 8 more videos. One of them is a march: the Marine's Hymn. Why? Because the month of march is the perfect time for marching music!

:pray2:Dear God, thank you for helping me get, and play the Melodeon, and Harmonica. I also thank you for helping me learn to read sheet music. Amen.:pray2:

Ahh as a resident in the suxkit county of Delaware, I've been bombarded by that video. Cant stand it & never will. He may be having "fun" with it but it offends my sensibilities that he would sink that low to use that song. But then again it could have been worse, he could have been doing the "Uptown Funk". (retches slightly)

Adding in.. K have not been listening to much lately as haing issues with my players but sorry to say when I can I've been hooked by Cherry Popping Daddies, Big Bad Voodoo Daddies & of course Frank Sinatra. Course I've been enjoying peep frogs much more lately, its relaxing to listen to them. :cool:
