Sinatra is great! This is probably my favorite that he did.

I enjoy jazz. I like hearing the Vibraphone and and so I like listening to Lionel Hampton. I’m kind of new to Jazz and so I really don’t care for some forms of it. I mean, to me, it has to have some sort of melody, so some of it I don’t care for. But the vibraphone is soothing and ….lowers my blood pressure. J

Can you music lovers of the era help me please? I am after records of the thirties and forties, before the 45rpm disc came on the market. The records have to be 45's to go onto my jukebox. Were recordings made on 78's reproduced on 45's, similar to recordings that were re-recorded when CD's replaced vinyl? Do you know of a record dealer that I could contact? Doesn't matter where, the internet has made the world a high street.

It's curious how a style of music, to some, just doesn't float their boat, yet, set that same piece of music to an event like, for instance, our good friends and dance teachers, Paul & Natasha, dancing a dance that was a: here today, gone tomorrow, dance craze of the late 1930's, called Balboa, and far from not floating their boat, they actually seek out the exponent, and discover one Django Rheinhardt. They also discover a style of music they thought that they, if not disliked, was not to their musical taste. Such was the tale of a couple of friends, who have now amassed quite a collection of music from the gypsy jazz era.

Basketball?? But it's spring training season!!

Currently listening to the Kansas City Athletics vs. the Minnesota Twins on April 12, 1966. Opening day in Bloomington with the frost heaves glistening in the sun. This kid Catfish Hunter has some hot stuff going for the A's.

His second year. The 1966 baseball card is not cheap---that is considered his rookie card. :p He was 4.26 for that year. His better years were yet to come. :p

Buddy Holly - Apartment tapes

In December '58, Buddy Holly bought an Ampex tape recorder to record takes of new songs that he
was working on. In Feb. '59 , Buddy along with Ritchie Valens & J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson were killed in a plane crash.
The songs were mostly Buddy Holly & his acoustic guitar. Someone added the background. This was a song I remember
growing up in Texas.
