Just happened back onto them myself. It's been about 5 years or so since I dealt with them (not for hats though), back then, great customer service. Was going to get into Cowboy Action Shooting at the time, would still like to. Lost all my Cowboy sites in my "favorites list" in computer crashes, but ran into them in a search a few days ago. Was looking at that Boss of The Plains hat just before seeing your post.

It's interesting to see how variable the hats really were in the Old West. Not the run-of-the-mill cowboy creases we see today.

A lot of the hats back then seemed really simple. A wide brim, a short, round crown, and no decorations of any kind seemed to me to characterize many of the hats I saw in the photos. Now, when you get to town photos, the shapes, colors, and accoutrements become more unique.

Either that is one of the nicest Western hats I've ever seen or you wear it really well. Outstanding. It motivates me to try taking some of the curl out of one of mine.

Thank you!... it seems like a very well made hat - not sure of the vintage, but I would guess 70s or 80s. It had a more pronounced upwards curl on the sides which I softened with some steam and very subtle side pinches which I increased a bit.

Two things:

1) I've enjoyed every photograph (your camera must be amazing) you've posted on the Lounge so far, and
2) That western looks great on you, and that pheasant band makes it more unique.

Don't try wearing ANYTHING past a 2.5: brim in almost ANY Pick-Up made past '75 I CANNOT wear my Cattleman or Bushman in my freinds 2009 Ford F150 PU, nor in the 2003 GMC that they use out at the stables I go to !! Most of the guys who wear Western hats take 'em off when getting in their trucks and use those wire racks up on the inside top to hold 'em while they drive !!! Onward thru the fog
