Visited schott NYC today 10/14/26

Im still on the fence big time but if I ever get the 613sh ill let you guys know. love the fit when in the NYC store and would prefer it over the 618 bc of the one star on the epaulets. (i know it is possible to add it)

what i found funny was pretty much every jacket fit differently. but it ofc could all be in my head.

i also wanted to mention I used the bathroom near the exit/checkout and there was a sign inside that pretty much said if you have an accident (and accident happens) please clean up. I thought that was thoughtful of them and TU to the Schott family for sure! another reason why I might just give them more of my $.

I tried on 3 XLs of the 540 they were kind enough to present to me at the factory sale, went into a corner to try them on - and each felt slightly different, without even getting into the significant difference in the distressing done to the jackets in the drums.

The 613SH is probably one of the best jackets from Schott to me personally.

I thought 613SH is indeed slimmer as it has bi-swings whereas 613/618 have underarm footballs, no?

The underarm footballs give you more freedom of movement at the same chest size. The pit-to-pit measure is the same.

This. 99% of people who come here should get a 613/618 or 124SM (or equivalents from Vanson) then never log back on.

A fair few end up doing this but after they've spent a fortune on "superior" jackets first.

iirc even at 10:30 there was a single 36 618 in cow that I tried and it was noticebly tighter and shorter feeling that the 613sh size 36 I tried in nyc. it could be cow vs hh or maybe one was outdoor (cold day sat) and the 613sh was indoor.

Im gonna have to visit schott in Nov and try those out again.

I agree that the 618 feels restrictive at first. When you move your arms upwards, you will notice the dramatically enhanced range of motion vis-a-vis the 613SH.

Both jackets are the same back-lenght, but trhe 613SH has a front-drop, so in my case it does cover the belt fully while the 618 does not.
Personal taste, of course, but I do prefer the slightly shorter front lenth.

Haha was it the 618HH? I picked that up initially for a smaller friend (in another state) who was looking, but then we found out the 618HHs were $850 (great price for one for sure but the friend is on a budget and I was finding a super-deal jacket for him), so we went with a 613 instead ($300 or so).

lol yeah very possible. i remember thinking weird it felt tight and put it back hoping for a 38. didnt realize I needed to ask to try the 613sh. there was a dude wearing metalled out crosszip and he had a size 40 618hh (i asked him) and a few others.

I did try the japanese market 613us?? in size 36 and that was tight but a 38 (didnt find any) would have been nice bc that jacket was $350!

also that is a nice price and jacket for your friend!!

Yeah those look cool on a hanger but the pattern is terrible compared to the Western version. (By request of Schott Japan but still lol.) The sleeves are particularly bad.
