Just an FYI, I’ve emailed ID number requests and never gotten an answer but when I’ve called, I may get one immediately few minutes or I’ll get it in an hour later call back but so far I’ve never gotten one through an email alone

I've emailed and always gotten an answer. I might have had to double email once though, but I've always gotten a reply.

Just bought my first vanson (have had others but this is the first one I’m keeping, others never fit right).

Does anyone know what model this is? It came with armour but I took it out for casual wearing.

Also the leather is stunning. Is this the old comp weight? View attachment 798550 View attachment 798551
It looks like a variation of the Cobra I used to have, but the collar and patches are different. Nice jacket!

Very quick email response from Vanson, here is what they said:

This item was madein 2010 for a dealer in London called Gorgeous Bikes.
IT is a slim fit coat designed by the owner of that shop.
The model name is MULE it is black cowhide.
Thats all I could find out.

Just picked up this rather out there custom job on eBay. Have certainly never seen a Vanson with cow print and I don't think I've seen one with fringes either.

The pics from the seller were a bit poor but I'm curious if anyone can discern what the base model for this jacket is? It looks like a CHP jacket based on the hem and laces but there's epaulettes and it's very unclear how the front riding flap is supposed to sit when it's unzipped, or even what it will be like when it's zipped up.

It arrived! Pretty outrageous and glorious all at the same time.

Reached out to Vanson about this and it turns out they used to have a fringe jacket model called the CHFH. Would love to know if anyone has any more info on that model, don't seem to find much when searching online.

This one was made in 1994 for their showroom before bouncing around to a few dealers before being sold by one that might no longer exist (it really is awesome how they can tell you the exact sales history of a jacket).

Still not really sure what to make of the front flap situation since it looks a bit odd unzipped but also looks odd zipped up. Inquired about adding snaps to the front flaps but maybe that would look strange if the jacket wasn't designed from the jump to fold like that.

Nevertheless, pretty cool to have a unique one like this.

"old comp weight" would likely have Talon zips.

That's just cool!

There's a lot going on with this jacket, but especially if you were riding a cruiser bike, it would be very appropriate and would draw attention, in a good way, to your existence on the road. And 1994 is old-school, really nice Comp-Weight. I suspect this jacket weighs quite a lot as well.

I do not need any new leather jackets. I have too many.

But I just saw this in my size. Talk me either in or out of it.
No reason to talk you out of this one. Simple, straightforward Vanson CR and if you can stomach the price, you'll have a great jacket for many years to come. Vanson's patterns are excellent, have you owned one prior? Much easier to wear than many of the other makers we often discuss on here.

Bought it in the end! My second cansino (thought my first and current one is much more oriented towards actual riding)

Ah good eye! May well be!
The other one was mine but had white stripes down the sleeves. I sold it on Vinted but yodel delivered the wrong package and I can only assume someone who was expecting a router ended up with it… we were both compensated but I’m sad it didn’t find its new owner.
