Stunning and yet subtle Abyss blue shift on the black. How was the Thurston Bros process? Curious about measuring for the waist with the adjustable side straps?
Thurston was smooth, I actually sent both my jackets back to Vanson. I wanted my abyss blue to be double zippered and it only had one. I also asked if it’s possible to add chest zip pockets and make the collar smaller. With the Maverick I asked for brass buttons, the silver were too much for me lol

Congratulations to everyone on the new jackets! I love getting notifications and seeing this thread is getting active.

Landed a Maverick and a Comet this month, both in Octagon. I'll try to get pictures up soon.

Wore my Vanson Sturgis for my "cool" windy midweek motorcycle ride yesterday.
Vented zippers open and perfect.
Windflap a BONUS !
My Comet gets only very occasional wear these years, a bit "squeezy" for the old geezer haha...
"Gonna fix that" as they all say.....

Does anybody know of any UK Vanson stockists?

I know that Silverman's carries a limited range, but they're out of stock most sizes.

Anywhere else?
That's all they list in their website. I've checked in the past other listed stockist in EU and they either had only a handful of models (if even), absolutely nothing at all or a completely useless website without a proper shop or catalog.

All gorgous but I think I Like the far right one best, or second best actually because the black hide on the left is my winner! What models are These?
The black on the far left is a comp weight Comet from the early '00s. Incredible leather, but it's short enough that I should let it go. The 4 Octogons from left to right are an early Comet, 2010s Maverick, '00s Model B, and one of the last run Model Bs done through Thurston Bros (nickel hardware instead of gold). They're each wildly different from one another, which makes it tough deciding which to keep.

Fantastic collection!

I had an early 2000s Comet that was too short on me as well. I ended up selling it to a buddy of mine. I wish he had held onto it because I’m curious if I would still feel it’s too short. Lol.. I remember the comp weight leather being really nice on that one.

My Vanson Comet in "Firenze" leather I believe. Bought new several years ago from an Australian Vanson stockist in the eastern states. Actuallly a motorcycle dealer , now closed down.
They were the only new Vanson stockist in Australia at the time, and none since.
They had in stock "motorcycle" styles only. Quite understandable I suppose.
Comet
Sturgis
Thunderbird (Brando style).

This Comet of mine is relatively unworn, perhaps the shortness and relative lack of storage/pockets.
It just never gets picked !
My Sturgis is a regular wearer by comparison.
The strange "wrinkle" or semi fold has been with the jacket from new, and is not visible when being worn.

I am going to make more effort to wear it, probably on localised motorcycle runs.

Just got my jacket back from Vanson repairs and the jacket looks perfect. Swapped out the silver buttons for gold/brass and it goes so much better with the brown color. They weren’t able to swap it out in the collar (which knew) but it’s not a big deal because it’s never shown. Really happy with this

I bought a Vanson Chopper last week (thanks @Khilij) and I'd like to share some thoughts on it, as I hadn't come across many reviews of it when I was looking to buy one. No pictures yet, but I'll update with some soon.

I'm 6'0" about 170 pounds with a 39" chest, and the 40 fits great. It's not a t-shirt fit, but it's the perfect length, tapers down nicely at the hem, and the sleeve length is perfect for me. It's got just enough wiggle room in the chest, and roomy in the shoulders without being too broad.

This probably wouldn't be the fit I'd be looking for off a motorcycle, but luckily, I ride a motorcycle. The fit is perfect. The action back works wonderfully, the sleeves zip up nice and snug without being uncomfortable, and the smidge of extra room in the shoulders allows for excellent movement when reaching forward for the handlebars. If it wasn't already obvious, this jacket is meant for riding. The first time I could go for a ride on it, it was unusually cold, and the double lapels worked perfectly. I was glad then for the extra bit of room in the chest with the two large leather panels stacked on top of me. My chest was warm and protected from the elements while my legs nearly froze.

This is easily the greatest motorcycle jacket I've experienced. I hope to keep it for a long time and put a lot of miles on it.
