Hey mate, Jerri from Schott actually got back to me. She said it was a ‘98–‘05 jacket made from lightweight cowhide in black or brown, even sent a sizing chart which was nice. Seems the jacket is on the uncommon side now because of the production date.

I did come across this scan of a page in an old Schott catalog. It doesn’t really offer any new information, unfortunately.

Compared to what I’ve been reading here I must be in the minority. I really like type iii jackets and own several. I found that the Aero type III did not fit very well - too boxy - I had one specially made for me 46 top, 44 bottom - that looked kind of screwy and I had my leather tailor correct it as best she could. The result looks decent. I do have a Schott that I like but it is not as tapered as their perfecto types - so my tailor is adjusting it also to match the weight I just lost. Last year I got a custom jacket from Thedi (I had the collar cut down from what is on the Website) that looks great -so great that I ordered another in a different color/leather. Theodoros is going to add hand pockets to the second one. His jackets also have industrial zippers versus buttons or snaps which I really like. A few years I also bought an indigo Y2K trucker type jacket. That jacket looks great but a little tight - been cutting back on the groceries and the fit is almost there. This is a really super looking jacket. My 2 cents..

Re-animating an old thread...IMO the P622H is one of THE nicest ones I've ever seen.

My humble 121 is made of an amazing heavyweight cow and I am absolutely thrilled with it, but the horsehide P622H is something incredibly special.

Tried it on several times in the store and nearly pulled the trigger on it. X83, where are you - this piece is made for you...

In a rich burgundy heavy horse, it is a unique jacket for sure - many makers do a Type II/III but not in such a gorgeous, luxurious, rich and deep colorway. At this rate I might talk myself into getting it; I consider this the king of truckers:
