I know I've been through New Lenox at least once, because almost every time my wife and I have visited the Chicago area for a wedding/funeral/vacation/whatever over the last 10-15 years we stayed at the Sleep Inn in Tinley Park near the intersection of Harlem Ave. and I-80 (it's conveniently located for us). Trouble is, my wife has no sense of direction so I do all of the driving whenever we go anywhere, and that leaves little opportunity for me to do any sightseeing until we stop.Namely it's boring and commercialized. It has no downtown, and the people in charge of making a plan would prefer not to. In fact, that just announced another gas station, which will fit in just fine with the other 17 of them around town.
Mokena is a more picturesque suburban town than New Lenox.
