Not „Golden Era“ though already Vintage.
Only Problem with these Nikons is the grip and it's rubber. The rubber dissolves and gets really sticky, so it’s a huge mess to remove it completely and apply new rubber. But the big advantage with Nikons is that they were produced in large quantities, so there are aftermarket solutions available for them.

The only rubber on this body is that red stripe in the pic, the rest is leather. Those matte metal parts on top and bottom are just powdered.
These leather parts could be replaced with a lot of leather types meanwhile.

But I know what you mean. I once took a Leica APS body out of it’s case after a few years of not using it and it turned into a sticky lump of chewing gum…:D

Ah - Sorry - so was under the assumption that would be the same with that model, all my older AF analog ones like the F60/F90/F90x suffered from the glueing rubber...

And i also remember well those „soft touch“ surfaces in many 90‘s cars that looked and felt pretty ****py after a few years. :D

Oh year that it is still a pain today - too many products try to mimic/ use "soft touch" - if that is being used on a product, I try to stay away from it...

Just bought a Minolta XD7 with three lenses and it’s close cousin, a Leica R5 without lenses.

As the Minolta came along with a 28mm, a 50mm and a 135mm the Leica will take a f2,8/60mm Macro for the beginning.

Pix to follow.

Oooh, beautiful! I love Olympus cameras! I learned on sixties/seventies Nikon gear, and I still have/use a bunch of that amazing stuff, but I was eventually seduced by the great ergonomics of Olympus cameras and those awesome Zuiko lenses.

I've got an OM-1n and OM-2n with four lenses; Pen F and Pen S half-frame cameras; and a Stylus Epic that I never use (because a point & shoot doesn't offer enough challenge for an old manual-camera guy like me). My first OM SLR was an OM-G/OM20 in the early eighties, and my first half-frame was an EES-2 in the late nineties. Every one of them fabulous shooters!
