Big fan of G1’s and have several size 48’s but needed a 46 for better fit. Found Cagleco G1 circa late 1950’s. My research discovered that a Gordon Matthews joined USMC in 1959 and became a fighter pilot. I believe this may have been his issued G1. VMF 333 was active during this time period and flew F8 Crusader jets. Noted for being active during Cuban Missile Crisis. Later in life Matthews became inventor noted for creating voice mail . Sadly passed away in 2002. Jacket is in almost perfect condition with extremely nicely grained goatskin and perfect knits and Mouton collar. Squadron patch and name tag look vintage. Talon zipper worried me at first until I saw photos of other Caglecos from this contract with same Talon. No sign of zipper or knits being replaced. Same color thread and no extra stitch holes. Squadron patch and name tag shows evidence of being placed over earlier smaller ones , but no damage to jacket. Putting on photos. What do you you G1 collectors think ? Is this too good to be true? I believe this to be 100% authentic .
