Great job,TJ.You guys are sporting some killer Resistols. I'm definitely envious.
Thought I'd add my Open Range inspired 3X Resistol to the Roundup. This hat was taken completely apart and resized, reblocked, and reworked...
Thank you, Bob.Great job,TJ.
I have yet to take the "western" plunge, but this conversion/transformation is amazing Terry. That crease is really interesting, does it have a name? I'm trying to learn them. You guys are sporting some killer Resistols. I'm definitely envious.

It goes by a few different names. The name I'm most familiar with is, Montana Pinch. Not quite the Montana Peak that's seen on military and police hats. Mine has the Mule Kick in the back. This crease has been around for a while and was used in Western movies like Open Range, My Darling Clementine, The Three Godfathers, to name a few.I have yet to take the "western" plunge, but this conversion/transformation is amazing Terry. Nice job & it looks great on you, TJ. I jokingly call the Montana Pinch a "Gus Outtie". I tried a Conagher with a mule kick after the movie came out but it just didn't look right on me. So I changed it into a Tom Horn/Gus version.I'm

Thank you, HJ. I guess Gus Outtie is as good a name for it as any other. Both the Gus and Montana Pinch creases have been around for a while. I like them both.Nice job & it looks great on you, TJ. Like that TV commercial, we'll have to take a poll: who has innies & who has outties. And beer bellies don't count as outties.Thank you, HJ. I guess Gus Outtie is as good a name for it as any other. Both the Gus and Montana Pinch creases have been around for a while. I like them both.

That is so cool. I'm learning, just for geek knowledge sake. Even though I don't see myself in a hat like this, I appreciate the beauty of it.I'm

I have to say that it's become my preferred crease for a Western. I have a Brown Stagecoach that I'm working on and I think I'll be using that same crease, if I don't change my mind. Here's some variations of that crease from some Western movies you might recognize...That is so cool. I'm learning, just for geek knowledge sake. All great hats and Sam Elliott carrying an 1895 Winchester gets extra credit....and what a cast in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Oh, yeah. Great movies for sure. Sam Elliot in the Rough Riders and Director John Ford was the king of movie Westerns....not to mention that I'd love to have Elliot's Winchester! All great hats and Sam Elliott carrying an 1895 Winchester gets extra credit....and what a cast in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.
