Thanks Red. It is a good color, quite a lot of iron in this clay. I think I'll wear it for awhile and decide if it's a good candidate for conversion.

With that felt color and the amount of brim to work with...I would consider it a real possibility. It would make a great looking fedora. Thanks Red. It is a good color, quite a lot of iron in this clay. I think I'll wear it for awhile and decide if it's a good candidate for conversion.

I wouldn't be shocked to find out it was from the 1960s
I won this Green Resistol on eBay earlier today. (eBay item: 263059484647) The brim is 2". I'm not thinking this is vintage or anything but was wondering about the age. Any ideas? This is my first Resistol so any information would be appreciated. Obviously I haven't received it yet. I cropped and enlarged the pictures from the auction.

Since it doesn't say "Byer-Rolnick" on the crest, I'm going to say late 1960s, and likely pre-1970 because of the other features.
Koret purchased Byer-Rolnick in 1968.
Ruhl's appears to have opened in 1957 and is still active.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.
That price says a lot! Great looking milan, my size too!The hat came Saturday. I opened it this morning. Found a tag under the sweatband. The color is listed as Black Jade and the model is Center Dent. So Does the tag change anything date wise?

Sold new by Shuddle Bros......yes.....tag is behind the really nicesheepskin sweat......Nice looking hat. Refurbished by Shuddle Bros? Paper tag behind the sweatband?
Contained this very nicely finished Resistol 10 X........
Yes.....thank you......I do know what you mean......lost a good one yesterday.....a sort of light chocolate brown shorter brim Open Road from the 60's I think.....really wish I had bid higher.....hope it too went to a fellow lounger.....Love it! Makes me regret that I didn't continue to bid, but my wife's car repair needs stopped that in its tracks. Glad it went to a FL member.
I was thinking on the bigger paper tag with model number.Sold new by Shuddle Bros......yes.....tag is behind the really nicesheepskin sweat......
Refurbishing was one of their advertised services..........I just like how it was said....."CORRECT hat renovation".....made me laugh....

I have no idea as to the date (perhaps someone can help out) thinking 1970's.....or so.....back during the X wars.......see who can put the most X's on a hatband?
Anyway this one has a really, really nice finish that perhaps does match it's X's.........!!!!!!!!!!
Please let me know what you think.......band is marked the same as he box.....Shuddle Brothers....

That is the only tag I could see, might be something higher up, but with the liner sewed in like that..... I guess Shuttle Bros IS still in Texas but the address has changed to Brookshire I think. I suppose it could be newer than the 70's but I am not sure.....the box seems really 70's (or earlier) to me. The tip logo seems newer but everything else seems older...and the sweat definitely has Shuddle Bros Huston on it .........in any event it is a really nice hat that fits me well!I was thinking on the bigger paper tag with model number.
At first it looks new but I don't know if Shuddle Bros had sweatbands for Resistol like they had for Stetsons.
