Resistol Ten. 2 3/4 brim, 5 1/2 open crown. Has oilskin liner cover. Early 50's hat? Just bought this.

Resistol, I think 1950's. No writing on sweatband and doesn't look like the original, so believe it's been replaced. Has 2 1/2 inch brim. Has oilskin liner cover.

Probably 1960's Resistol Beaver Fifteen Kitten Finish. Madison model, color is Cameo. Has 2 1/4 inch Cavanagh edge, a very small edge, like the last Stetsons that had a Cavanagh or Mode Edge.

Here are three recent acquisitions of the 3X Beaver W220 HI-7 western hat in Cordova — a deep burgundy color. Brim is 4” and open crown is 7”. The felt is sturdy and shapable (with steam) as I’ve attempted to show with a different style for each hat.

Resistol Wide Country, not uncommon but doesn’t appear here often. This one has the melerol sweat, in a Shudde Bros shipping box dated 1968.

Heads up on a beautiful size 7 'early 60s NIB Plains I passed on, when I asked for the brim size the seller replied 3", along with a purchase price offer of $75.00. If the shipping wasn't so high to Europe I probably would have picked this one up in spite of the brim being a bit smaller than I would like.

Phil — I used Fruno’s tip about diluted white vinegar. I did several passes and then, after it appeared it would not be fully removed, I gave it a naphtha bath. It’s certainly better than it was!

Wow! That's a night and day difference. I've passed on a couple of good hats lately because of verdigris. Now I know. Thank you!

Looking at the crown you can tell just how fantastic the felt is.
