... Has been named, by "GQ Magazine" the Most Stylish Man in America.

My first reaction was a realization that I am so far out of the loop of what is commonly considered stylish or fashionable that I couldn't even think of a single thing this young man wears, beyond those little shrunken fedoras that I had only previously seen on female R&B singers, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Then I thought, in this post modern surreal era of "anything goes" fashion, I suppose there are worse choices.

Here's the blurb from "The Washington Post,"

Justin Timberlake named most stylish man in America

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Grammy-winning pop singer Justin Timberlake has topped GQ magazine's list of the "10 most Stylish Men in America," and gives his banker stepfather the credit for his dress sense. The men's magazine praised Timberlake, 28, for his impact on fashion, his willingness to take risks and "knack for targeting trends" including hats, three-piece suits, skinny ties and beards.

I suppose if he is credited for his "impact on fashion," it is better that he was recognized rather than the fellow who brought us the gray oversized sweatsuit, the double beer holding hat -with straw, or the psuedo retro $50 T-shirt.

But that's just me, and I could be wrong.

Interesting that he's crediting his banker stepfather. I hope someone publishes a photo of the man.

I applaud Timberlake for growing up gracefully in the public eye.
He's only 28. Seems it was just a few years ago he was an immature boyband member

I am sorry but if I live to be 1 million years old I find him in no way, no shape or form remotely good looking or sexy. I just don't get it at all. He and JLO are the most overrated people in the history of mankind.

You are by far better looking Hemingway.

:eek:fftopic: my daughter who is 28 was nuts about NKOTB ( I endured countless hours of their nonmusic) and recently went to see their reunion tour or whatever. [huh]

Well if it's any consolation, you did get my vote.;) :)
You and Foofoogal have touched my heart! So sweet! Thank you. :)

I was kidding, of course, about myself. With the size of my ego, I need to make that clear, I think! :eusa_doh: lol

This thing about "bringing sexy back," is that from a song of his?

Being an old fart, I wasn't sure how he dressed so I googled him.

He was wearing a suit and tie and vest and tie youtube video ortega76 posted.

I don't know if those two pictures are representative of how he looks in general, but I'd say that both outfits work for him and the one on the left is one that I wouldn't mind wearing. Of course being another "old fart" I'm still waiting for Marcello Mastroianni to bring style back to the messes (or masses).

Note how the low-waisted pants make his legs look disproportionately short compared to his torso. Why is this considered attractive?

If it is considered attractive, I've got it in spades :p . One of the most consistantly irksome things about men's clothing right now are these low waisted get-ups. I'm not especially disporportionate, but perhaps a bit long-waisted. Couple that with the fact that I'm not at...let's call it my ideal weight, and it makes for some frustrating pants shopping. The influence that Timberlake and his ilk have on fashion make it hard for fellas like me to buy in the more "reasonable" price range.
For instance, a coupla guys have posted the cheap line of suit seperates that Target has been offering. I thought this might be right up my alley. Jacket - decent fit OTR. Pants ( sorry Lizzie and female co. ) - barely covered the old crack-a-roo back there. Very frustrating indeed! And a lot of the old standbys that cost a bit more; Polo, et al... are getting on that bandwagon or have been on it for a coupla years. It's getting so I've got to do something VERY unmanly; try on pants before I buy them!!!

Theres a whole generation that grew up barely wearing droopy, baggy jeans.
And now they only feel comfortable in suits if the pants fit like tight lowrise jeans.

Some say the lowcut pants signify that the wearer is fine shape w/o a gut to hide. So its not about the legs, its what it reveals about the torso.

Its a game for the young.

I guess that must be it -- but to me, all it says is the wearer is built like Charlie Brown.

Because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In this case the beholder isubconciously thinks of her or himself as Snow White, and is attracted to diminutive men who sing the "High Ho" song.
