Union Civil War veterans attend the funeral of General Horace C. Porter, Medal of Honor winner & Legion of Honor winner. Post war, Porter served as General Ulysses S. Grant's personal secretary during the Grant Presidency. It was Porter who brought the bribery attempt that led to the Black Friday gold market scam to Grant's attention.

Most of these men have been identified but still trying to identify the distinguished man on the left wearing the Homburg. Looks like he may have a chauffeur behind him. Plenty of boaters worn in the crowd behind.

Gamblers play Faro, a French card game, at a saloon in Bisbee, Arizona, in this late 19th century photograph. Gambling was a quintessential part of saloons, but the combination of liquor, money and hot-tempers meant that any gambler had to brush up on his shooting skills as well as his card-playing.

They are 'faked' vintage stills someone has made of cilian Murphy in current fictional TV show 'peaky blinders', back in a week or two for another series. Set mostly in Birmingham, UK, 1920s. Filmed largely in Liverpool in colour. It's a good show, but hasn't been the same since they killed off Sam Neil's character in Season one. View attachment 87961
