Yes, that get-up, with a long leather trenchcoat, was a popular outfit with those who could afford it. Great look overall.

I used to own an olive green long
leather trenchcoat (Made in France) which I found at a pawn shop.
The shop was located near an Army
base.
My guess is that a soldier must've bought
it over there.
The leather was like kid glove but strong
and very comfortable at the same time.
The detail was excellent.
They don't make them like that anymore
with such quality which was standard in
most stores back then.
This is khaki material, but is similar to
the leather one I own and lost at a restaurant!

Harry to date has been the only POTUS to have authorized the use of the atomic bomb. While the Japanese were attacking Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, they were also busily striking the British & Commonwealth forces in Hong Kong & thereabouts, including Canadian troops. I'll stop here, only to add that occasionally I'm referred to as "Truman" on account of sporting one of my fedoras; I take that association to be a high compliment.

I never paid that much attention heretofore, but judging from the above photos of Harry S. Truman it appears that he tended to sport the Open Road type of hat. I'll have to allocate more head time to my Stetson silver belly 150th anniversary Open Road by way of homage to him.
