Please help me understand: This hat seems pretty large, as it fits my 7 3/8 oval head front to back, with lots of room on the sides. But the tag says 6 1/2 which would typically be a smaller hat. how do I accurately size this hat?Nice! And a big 'un, too.

Inherited this hat from my Grandfather and unfortunately it does not fit my oval head. Would be interested in any advice or information from the Brotherhood regarding vintage, value or whatever. This will likely go to eBay or classifieds so that someone can enjoy the hat as it seems pretty darn nice. Thanks, Mortimer. +1 Yeah, what she said! Maybe a little foam padding? The 6 1/2 is the French size, which corresponds to a UK 7 3/8 (or US 7 1/2 or EU 60)
