Sorry... I missed your earlier post and challenge. Yes, the metals are in the color position (rather than model code) - most of the colors names I have found translation for... except Monlov. ;^) I have owned many of the metals. Always loved Bismuth. Here is Palladium:

Beautiful colour, Alan. It's one of those hats that came in a litlle box isn't it? Haven't seen that colour before. Very nice.

Yes, this hat arrived in the small coffin shaped box. It is a "pocket hat", with grosgrain sweatband, designed to be packable for travel.

Now why isn't my Bismuto like this? This one is up there in the pantheon of all time wonderful hats, Steve. A work of art.

So many shades of grey! They are all beautiful in their own way. What about Copper? Brownish tones?

As you wish. Borsalino Augusta Bronzo (bronze), size 57, overwelt brim taken out and now 5,5 cm. Crown 10 cm at the pinch. One of my favourite hats, because it goes with just about anything. The first picture shows how it was listed at auction.

This would be a nice subject for the Side by Side Hat Comparison thread... with hat colors portrayed under the same lighting conditions. I could add a few more (plumbeo comes to mind) but looking through my photo archive I find I've done a spotty job recording the manufacturing labels over the years. Especially on older hats that I no longer own. Shame on me!

I think those are color names and not model names.

Here is a photo from the Borsalino Factory January 12, 2016 visit. I believe these are Wind Cords. There is a "Bismuto" color available.

Boxes and boxes of wind trolleys?!! My knees just got weak.

That is a very good idea Alan. I still have most of my metal coloured hats. I can put them together in one shot. I'll do that as soon as possible. Haven't seen a plumbeo before by the way.

It doesn't show on the original photo, but the hat was a bit too stingy brimmed for my taste, so I took out the overwelt to give it a bit more brim.

Both of them wonderful hats, Alan. I especially like the plumbeo homburg; looks to be in pristine shape. Great additions. I'll post my own rutenio later. One of the hats I received today turned out to be a palladio, so I can add that colour to my metal workshop.

Tonio, thanks for posting. The metal colour hats are stacking up nicely. I really like the rutenio colour. I have a fedora in that colour, but I always have soft spot for homburg hats. Beautiful hat.

Here's a colour we haven't seen before. Borsalino Export Qualität in Stibina (Stibnite). Size 57, brim 5,5 cm crown 10 cm at the pinch. Unusual about this one is that it actually runs large.
So now we have argento, cobalto, rutenio, bronzo, plumbeo, rodio, bismuto, palladio and stibina. We're getting on.
