Very nice.In my search for hats Italians, deal the Borsalino in Italy, is always a gamble in the used or vintage market.
Some are often over-priced and very common or unattractive models, others are hidden gems or are part of piles that are sold as a lot.
This is a gift from a dear friend who has recovered it at a used clothing store.
This Borsalino was sold in Verona by a depositary that ceased its activities in the 50s.
The model is typical of the years 40. Hard to say whether before or after the war.
The hat was in poor condition and heavily used.
There were some signs of moths and felt very light from the outset, it was completely to clean, as well as the inside.
The band sweatband was very dry and had a marked consumption in places.
The restoration was entrusted to Sergio Anzani of Cappelleria Melegari - Milan that after careful consideration decided to keep all the original pieces of the hat.
The size is 6 and corresponds to 59 cm in the EU or 7 3/8 in US.
Crown is 10 cm. (4 inches) and brim 7 cm. (2 3/4 inches)
Color Narvalo e Ergosca type. Qualità Extra Extra Superiore.
This is one of the oldest Borsalino in my collection sold in Italy.
Anzani did a fantastic work and it fit perfectly!
Beautiful Borsa, Daniele. It's a very nice ribbon too. CongratulationsBorsalino Grey with double colors ribbon
