I am really exited about the skirt. I forgot to bid on it the first time it was listed so I am happy to have gotten a 2nd chance. I have been wanting a jerkin pattern for a while also.

Those are stunning! I also have the second one, but haven't made it up. I'm excited to see how yours makes up :)
I love the wild color art on the last one.

You're welcome! I'm happy to help since I had the pattern on hand anyway =]

It's been so hot where I live I decided to buy a halter top pattern.

Hi there,
I'm not sure if there is a knitting thread, so I'm posting this here. I'm unsure if it's already been posted, if it has, sorry ladies!

You can download tons of 1940s knitting patterns from the Victoria and Albert Museum site, a friend just told me about it! Yay!

PS I start my knitting courses next week, I'll be eager to make a 40s sweater for myself!

All these patterns are gorgeous!
Lauren - I see this skirt a lot in 30's 40's fashion - correct me if I am wrong. Is it a straight skirt or is there a tiny bit of flare a at the bottom? I can never be sure from the illustration.

Thanks, gals!
MarieAnne, it's not straight from the hip- it flares a little bit at the hem... kind of somewhere between a pencil skirt and an A line skirt, I guess. The buttons are what got me :)
