Maybe. Then again, 1940s-early '50s 'science fiction' ties always sell for high prices, and this particular one seems to be rarer than any Dali tie.

Nice outfit you put together there, Dinerman. It's kinda weird how I dig that tie but know full well I likely wouldn't have bought it myself. Not for lack of liking it, but for lack of inspiration on what to wear it with. It's a bit difficult for me to move out of my Rat Pack-esque tie comfort zone:
