I used to bid on eBay, particularly on lots, but it got to be too time consuming (close to addictive, something which needs to be avoided at all costs). I'd rather frequent the local thrift stores from time to time...

That's sensible. I do sometimes peruse eBay for Dali' ties, hoping to find one with a low bid...right.

Okay, so I'm wearing an Oviatt tie right now (Marc C. might recall the Oviatt cache' over at the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store in Lincoln Heights that this was part of). So what do you think it'll get me on eBay? lol

If it's in excellent condition (and if your auction's placement, title and description mimic those of the $102.50 Oviatt tie auction), then IMO you could get over $50 for it. Not $100, I reckon, since vintage thin '50s ties don't fetch as much cash on eBay as the wider '40s ties do.
