MADE IN [Something]
And then two words at the bottom, which looks like they start with C and L.
The upper pair are a very serious set of scissors! They seem like they could be a murder weapon in a Holmes mystery!Back when stuff was made to last... At the bottom are my grandmother's 8-inch dressmaking shears. WISS-brand No. 28s, made in the U.S.A. Freshly sharpened by the knife-grinder. A pair of steel snippers for thread. And at the top, my BONUM-brand all-steel points. I bought this just recently and just got it back from the knife-grinder last week. I've done some research, and from what I've found, the Bonum, 10in. tailors' points were (or are, I'm not sure how old they are) made by a company in Germany. Apparently, they're actually WALLPAPER SCISSORS (which probably explains their length), but I'll use them as tailor's points for my sewing-projects.
That's exactly like ours Shangas. But I will warn you, being woken up by them is absolutely brutal, they make such a racket that you are instantly jarred awake. I doubt anyone could possibly sleep through it unless they were stone deaf.
