Thanks Ben

That tells me much more about the suit. I think you are being hard on your self. I cringe when seeing photos of myself too. I think the only down fall of the photo was that it was bit dark for my screen....an a bit or red eye. Here it is corrected:

Thanks again for sharing. You have a great collection. The only DB I have is my tux. I really do need to try a DB suit. I don't know if it will be flattering on me, but I love the way they look.

Hi Mk,

Thanks for touching the picture up a bit, I think it would look better if I did not look as though I was about to fall asleep! I think DB is one of the best cuts, if the tux looks good on you, a well cut DB suit should do as well.

Bk, I love wearing my suits, however, I do not wear them all the time. It would not go down well at work unfortunately.

Thanks for the nice comments, I will post a few more suits on here when I get time. Hopefully at Christmas we should get some pictures of us, as we are spending 4 days in "1937-38" over new year at a big country house hotel.

Kind Regards

Ben

Here's one of the suits I recently snagged for about 20 bucks... Any ideas as to the date? And also it has a few what I suppose are moth holes that are about as big around as a dull #2 pencil tip and I was wondering how much it would cost to repair them... if its possible at all... The pants are unlined on the inside. Quite itchy.

*edit* The seller of this suit also described it as gray but I'm thinking more blue...Or am I just blind? *edit*

Here's my "new" brown pinstripe suit. It needs a little work here and there but the fabric is in perfect condition.

I wish I could find a suit that fit me. You have no idea how hard it is to find a vintage suit with a 38 long jacket with pants with a 36 inch inseam.
I guess I have to start saving for something tailored.[huh]

I found the suit on E-bay. It was not cheap but it was also not something I wanted to pass up. To be honest I was confused as to its origin and whether or not it was actually vintage. I sent a PM to Mark and asked about the suit. He said it was most likely either British or German. I'm guessing it was a custom suit based on some of the features. I should really post some additional pictures. It has "heel guards" (or "stays") which are located on the inside of the cuff.

I still can't get over the fabric though. It's very thick and heavy and has few signs of wear. I wish there was a tag inside so I could have some more information about the suit.

Here is a vintage suit I picked up in California while attending the Queen Mary. With the exception of the sleeves being a little bit long the suit fits perfectly. This is one of the best fitting suits I have ever worn! While wearing it with a trench coat I barely notice the suit underneath. It is extremely comfortable. Now I know what a great suit feels like! Matt Deckard is so right, it is about the high armholes!!
I wore this out last week when I met Senator Jack for drinks at the Femme Fatale Fest.

Very good find. Nothing like a vintage suit that is for sure. I see a few hats on the hat rack there. Now let's see the suit with the two other gray hats behind you on the rack as well. ;) :D

J
