Oddly enough we do have suits hanging in the basement, which people left with us when they did their prearrangements, to be used at the time of their death. Some of them have been there for YEARS, and I suspect some of the folks are already dead, and everybody forgot about the suit at the FH. There's nothing too special down there...acres of gray polyester.

Will - I found it on ebay about 6 months ago or so. The weather was just changing so I opted to put it away as I was apprehensive about removing the tags. It seemed like I was ruining a historically untouched item! I come from an archival professional background and so hemmed and hawed over it until I spoke to a friend of mine here 25/30 years into collecting vintage. He told me as long as I keep the tags in the pockets of the original items then that's at least second best to making my home resemble a 1934 store! lol That helped!

Dan - Clear sign we need to see more of each other! I've been growing the mustache for upwards of a month! :) The color combination.. ugh is is that noticeable? haha I had a house guest on my couch for the last week and he told me the color combination looked good together. I remain, frustratedly colorblind :eusa_doh: The pocketsquare is vintage, it came in a boxed set of a few other colors. I can't say what decade specifically but it's a spiffy box! 40's? 50's even? Either way, I dig em! :)

I will post more photos of the suit shortly. I can't truly say if this is from 1934 or not. It appears factory/union made as it's a set 42 size. Is this the same sizing used in France? The date is only due to the PENCIL on the tag itself. So obviously I wouldn't bet the farm on it. It's a little larger of a suit than I usually wear. This is probably the right size for me but I'm not sure if you can tell there's a really nice silhouette to the torso and only very lightly padded shoulders.

Going for a touch of Golden era today

Switched to a doubled breasted Canali today in a fine grain brown/black wool with Bill Blass orange tie and copper/bronze pocket square. Art's hat as always! (all new clothing, not vintage, but hope I got the look...any comments?)

better color fidelity in this shot (I know the watch is garish, but I don't yet own a dress watch)

Trying to get a mix of 50's and modern look.

The photo looks like it was taken through a mirror. But anyway, very nice ensemble! :eusa_clap If I had a Zegna Tindari 2 button suit, Equestrian Firenze tie, and an Art Fawcett bespoke Fedora I'd copy it.

The watch is not my kind of thing, but otherwise, I think ya look like a million bucks. The hat's brim works very well for your face type. Very nice.

Thanks All! I'd like to use this opportunity to post a question. I posted the same photos on styleforum.net and surprisingly got numerous complaints about me not taking my hat off in my store. To the best of my knowledge, hat etiquette does not require a man to remove his hat in a retail environment, I like wearing my hats at work...any comments?

Not to sound too ad hominem, but ...

I do not wish to state my general opinon of the majority of the posters on Styleforum as said opinion might be considered slanderous.
