short A2 length

I have an opportunity to buy through internet A2 leather jacket. It would be my first A2.
I am 177cm high (5' 10") , 73 kg, 105 cm chest (41.5").
And chest and shoulders of the jacket are correct size for me.
But he jacket is only 57 cm long (including knit waistband and excluding collar)
For denim jackets, Premier Highwayman, Mister Freedom leather jackets I have it is good length and I have them in length 57 -58 cm.
But I do not know much about A2 fit . Would it be the correct length?
Should the A2 jacket be longer? I am worried that knit waistband may fold and the jacket will look like much shorter (like 50 cm ).
Below I have shown my Premier Highwayman which is 57.5 cm long.
The trousers on photo are short- mid rise.

Should A2 be the similar length or I need to look for something longer?

Definitely look for an example with longer back length. 24.5" - 25" would be an ideal A-2 length for your height. I would not go any shorter than 24" unless you have a very short torso in correlation to your height.

If you're wearing the jacket zipped, the waistband knit will likely hit the same area on your waist as the HWM (even with 1.5" - 2.5" in added length), and allow for a slight blousing effect. Any shorter and you'll be fighting the waistband knit riding up over your belt line and sitting above the top of your pants.

57cm ( 22.5" ) including knit is extremely short , are you sure they have measured correctly ? I would be very suprised if that was right, maybe 57cm without knits .

For your height and seeing your pics in a 57.5cm jacket i would aim for approx 60cm including knits , this would allow for a little "blousing" which is good for a jacket with a knitted waistband.

Thank you for advises.
The jacket is 21.5" chest and 22.5" length at back - I have seen photos with tape on the jacket.
I like short jackets but will listen your advises as I do not know much about A2.

I would look for something at least an inch longer than that back length. The knits will tend to ride up slightly naturally. So even if they're sitting over your belt buckle when you put the jacket on, a bit of movement/walking around will see them start to creep up and you'll find yourself forever pulling the jacket down to get it to sit properly. Tbh, having a very short A-2 also limits your choice when it comes to trousers/jeans that you can wear with it. I've owned a short A2, and much as I loved it, I was never completely comfortable with the length. It wasn't in bolero jacket range, but I felt it was always on the verge of riding up over my belt buckle.

If this is standard size of A2 what is shown on the photo it looks A2 style is not a jacket for me - I like more fitted jackets.

Nah...wartime fits were all over the place. Especially considering that many members were issued jackets that may not have corresponded with their chest size. Sometimes "close enough" was all that was on hand.

IMO, what you're seeing in the group photo are oversized jackets to allow for layering at altitude.

A correctly sized and patterned A-2 looks sharp...

It's definitely not. You'd be happier with a naval jacket. (G-1 and its ancestors AN-6552 & M422A. Aero makes lovely versions.)

If the OP is concerned with length at all, USN jackets are even longer than A-2's. A 25" - 26" back length would be typical for his chest size and USN jackets don't blouse the way that an A-2 does, so they definitely wear longer.

+1 that they can be worn a little more trimmly without sacrificing comfort though, due to the bi-swing back.

Yes - John Chapman's jacket fit looks perfect to me. But I hold on with buying A2 - this is sth I need to try on me rather than buying based on dimensions and photos from ebay.
