The last advertising for Ralphs-Pugh clothing is February 1954. An ad in a northern California newspaper.
The first mention of the company is in 1914.
The formed as a company in 1918.

My dream jacket has appeared. An original cossack is the one jacket I have yet to own. I've owned a couple of reproductions and looked at a lot of them, but this RP is the one.
I have my doubts I will every find an original like this in my size or will I be able to afford it.

I met the original poster a couple of years ago. I bought a vintage jacket from him on ebay. He was in my area and stopped by, he was delivering a custom built motorcycle. He worked for a builder in Indiana.
He is an interesting young man. We had a great visit, he is also from a musical family. He is a big guy, so I did not have a lot for him to try on! I actually have a jacket that would fit him!
I've tried contacting him, but unsuccessful.
This is the most comprehensive information on this vintage jacket brand. Started with this thread. More information is always coming up and we are always learning. This is also true for most vintage jackets, we are the depository for this history.

So, the Ralphs-Pugh jacket is back from Dena's workshop. She has done an excellent job installing the zipper (thank you @photo2u), re-stitching up seams that had come apart, and repairing the existing lining as best as she was able. It's now a consistent, early 50's M/C jacket, it still has the stitching holes, but no badge holder anymore (this was removed before I picked up the jacket). I held off from a full liner replacement, or replacement of the inner "tan" leather waistband area from any repair, as that would get significantly more expensive and time consuming quickly. Then when it came back to me, I applied 2 applications of Urad Tenderly by hand over the entire jacket, and one application of standard Urad creme above the V-yoke on the back, where the leather showed some drying from the sun. This jacket took all the repairs very well, and I am pleased with the results - except for one thing.
With all the seams and lining stitched back up now, I cannot get it on. No issues, the real dimensions of the jacket are as follows, and are consistent with most late 40's early 50's jackets I have handled.
Torso - shoulder to hem - 22.5"
Shoulders - 17"
Pit to Pit - 22"
Sleeve - 25"
Back - 22"

Nice find. The leather looks in nice condition - the lining looks pretty tattered. It’s on the collector side for price, if you lived in Japan it would be more attractive. Also gotta check any other issues, if the main zip is original, etc. It’s a pretty basic CHP style, but some people love that.

this is odd. That label, was only used for about a year in 1938. The lining the label is on appears different that the jacket lining. Does not look like a RP jacket. I do have a 50s RP straight zip police jacket.
I does appear to be a CSC jacket or another maker. The sleeve buttons are weird.
I would have a lot of questions before I bought it as a RP jacket.

The RP label does not appear to be connected to the jacket for sale. probably correct 50s/60s.
Any idea on the year/decade of this catalog?

I would guess it is post-war, early 1950s. I have a MC and patrol jacket from this era. The patrol jackets have 50s zippers, the MC jackets have late 40s zippers. A couple in steerhide and the others in HH.
I would estimate RP only produced jacket until the mid 50s, just my guess. This maybe one of their last brochures.
Can you say more about what this “Distinctive California Sportswear technique” is? Is it the French seam inside the lapel?
