Dobb's Hankachif - the entire hat weighs just a hair under 90g. Very cool, very wearable hat. I've fixed this wind trolley problem once before, but I can't remember how I did it.

I tied a loop in this one near the button and looped it around that way. This one didn't have the loop. When I do that the button is secured, but it ends up pretty much exactly opposite the bow, instead of sitting on top of it.

Here is the latest installment featuring hats acquired during the Spring/Summer 2026 season—one of the hottest of my life.
Borsalino Nero Pelo 61 A.jpg
It is hard to think about fur-felt hats in this heat, but this black Borsalino—spacious, wide-brimmed, and finished with a medium-nap fur felt—really spoke to me, despite the tacky lettering on the bow.
Borsalino Nero Pelo 61 C.jpg It is a European size 61 cm. I believe that corresponds to a US size 7 5/8, though Borsalino sizing is notoriously inconsistent regarding the label.
Borsalino Nero Pelo 61 Interno.jpg
Curiously, it was sold by Herbert Johnson in London.
Moores bombetta nera 56.jpg

I also have a bowler hat from the UK: a Moores hat that arrived in perfect condition until today.
Moores bombetta nera 56 C.jpg
It had an extra black ribbon covering the original hatband and bow—likely worn for a funeral.
I had hoped the French lady who sold it to me as a size 60 was right, but it turns out to be a perfect 56.
Moores bombetta nera 56 B.jpg The bowler is incredibly lightweight and lacks the rigidity found in other models. Sold in Paris
Moores bombetta nera 56 interno.jpg
The crown is not very moldable, though I look forward to hearing what enthusiasts of this style think.
As always, neither hat is my size; if you are interested, please get in touch.

Cool finds, Daniele. Interesting bowler there; Moores was not particularly known for lightweight hats.

We are in Monza, about forty years ago—give or take.
Here are hats from that segment of the Italian hat-making industry—the contract manufacturers—that produced the largest number of hats in the world. It is quite rare for me to come across hats from Monza that bear the labels of the historic hat factories in this city near Milan.
Scotland Drap Monza 59 Interno.jpg
The first one is a "faux" English-style hat, as you can tell from the lining.
Scotland Drap Monza 59 C.jpg

The felt is a magnificent blend—one of the finest I have ever seen in terms of texture and color—stiffened excessively with sizing to give the product an "English" feel.

It may well have been intended for a retailer in Northern Europe.
GoldenStar Lobbia Extra Extra 60 Interno.jpg
The second is a *lobbia* (a classic fedora-style hat) branded "Golden Star," with the inscription "Extra Extra" on the lining—a nod to the major names in Italian hat-making.

The felt is labeled "Lepre Garantita" ("Guaranteed Hare"), signifying top-tier quality.
GoldenStar Lobbia Extra Extra 60 B.jpg
Indeed, the felt is of a high standard, and both hats—despite being late-era examples of Monza’s hat-making tradition—are exceptionally well-finished.
Both are 60 cm. size, so a 7 1/2 in US
They were produced by "Camera - Monza." The *lobbia* is made of sheared hare fur (lepre rasata) in a color known as "Sabino."
They come from a small, recently discovered batch of hats that were never sold—essentially, old stock.
