Raw edge brim at 4.5cm. Crown 11.5cm at the center dent.

Again, a fantastic hat that is too small for me
and therefore reserved for Panos...

Hall & Co. London expressly made for Sools Paris:
Wonderful, thick but soft and in addition heathered fur felt;
size 57 (cm) or 5 (French) (somewhat shrunk);
height centre dent at 10.5 cm; unbound brim at 5.0 cm
The hat is in good condition but unfortunately has a couple
of small mothbites - hardly noticeable with the great felt.
The brim is a bit uneven - maybe trimmed later!?
But the look and dimensions make it a wonderful example
of a (late) 30s sporty fedora - in my opinion. You Gentlemen!?
Anyway, too bad it's not my size...

Stefan, That's a good one! I have come across some PolkaP Hats. Tonak also has similar formed / pressed Felt.

Tight fine weave
5 inch crown
Dimensional Brim 3 1/4 front - 3 inch sides

I had not heard of this brand Lamson Hubbard… but from the sellers photos it appeared to be a really fine weave. It has not disappointed in that regard. In person the weave is very tight and small appears almost like canvas. I find interesting that in photos the weaves do not look quite as tight as they do in person. I think I will compare the weave on this on and my Herbert Johnson Optimo. Between the liner tip and Not much sun today holding up to the sun would not provide much of an effect. The 3 1/4 by 3 inch brim seems to prefer an up brim…. But with some coaxing it will stay down sometimes. I really love the pug. Under the sweat and oilskin sweat liner revealed a made in Ecuador stamp.. some pencil notations and union tag. There is an area of discoloration on the back underside of the brim and I managed to dislodge the sweat bow and size tag while I was fiddling around. Will probably reattach. All and all…. Loving my new/old Colonel Panama.

Now, where was I?
Another one from this weekend.
Wilke "tradition" fedora in grey with a contrasting brim binding and ribbon. Colour is called "rauch" (smoke). Size 58, with the brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. A more modern Wilke, but certainly well made and the contrast is very attractive.

Next one.
Wegener Super homburg in black. Plenty of black homburgs to go around, but the Super designation isn't all that common. Size 57 with the brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Not a lightweight at 142 grams.

Mayser Milz fedora in grey. Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Not a hat to make the headlines, but well made and fairly lightweight at 114 grams.

A. Breiter Sonderklasse feine Antilop Qualität fedora in a warm dark grey. Size 58 with the raw edge brim at 7cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Teardrop crease and a nice bit of rake front to back. There is some mothing on the underside of the brim, but the antilope finish and colour of the hat make it hard to notice that.

And another one. Germany going strong.
Diplomat Bella fedora in black. Size 58, with the bound brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 11,5cm at the center dent. Really well made hat with great proportions and a nice hand to the felt.

Super Extra Rein Haar homburg in grey. Size 57 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Nothing extraordinary, but good enough to bring along for the price.

Let's see if we can end this haul with something a bit more to the standards here.

I'm fairly certain this one is actually made by Hückel Welheim, judging by the shape, finish and the hanging cord on the sweatband. The felt is awesome.

Took a chance on a lot of hats from Etsy that Brent pointed out to me. Listed as size 54, but the seller gave some measurements that pointed towards size 56 or even 57, so I took the plunge.

The good news is they are indeed all size 56 en 57. The bad news is they aren't really my style (mostly). One or two of them can stay and the rest I'll find a new master for.
The other good new is I found some new colours that we haven't seen before and I can give you a new theory on the meaning of one of the numbers on the labels.
Borsalino Alba Lightweight. Short brimmed fedora in grey. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 4,2cm and the crown at 10cm. Lightweight indeed with only 89 grams, but them it is a very stingy brim. Made for Guiseppe Marino, Napoli, who chose a great liner.
