Post New Hats Here!

[Blare]

Thanks for the black Diplomat @steur I like it, it has good proportions on the brim and the crown for me... View attachment 344934 View attachment 344935 View attachment 344936 View attachment 344937 View attachment 344938 View attachment 344940

Looks great Marcel.

A wonderful double find, John. Congrats

Lately I have not been in hat seeking and buying mode, but when the fish jump in the boat...
Today I went into a recently opened second-hand and collectables store just a few blocks from home. Found this cool three-hat Dobbs box.

It's cool enough as is, with the Game Bird stamp on the tag, but the hat inside is awesome, even though it isn't a GB or even a Dobbs.

I agree. It's a fine hat that looks very good on you!

Thanks Steve!
This is the first topper I've found in my local shops. It's in beautiful shape, just a bummer that it doesn't fit.

Here with a fedora poet style and a poncho, here at the south is winter.

[Steve1857]

A bummer indeed. At least you've got that wonderful Dobbs box.

Thanks Steve!

Again a new French beauty:
Thibet "LUXE" bowler/derby respectively chapeau melon
The only label inside is an embroidered fabric label "BURGUNDER Romain".
Sold at Caésar Wolfram - successor J. Laforgue in Thann/France.
So far I have found nothing about the hat manufacturer/seller.
Great wool felt - Super overall condition - Nice proportions.
The best thing is the unusual and fantastic lining.
My dating idea would be 40s - a feeling based on the lining.
Original size tag: 60 cm / 6 1/2 Punti / 7 3/8 English size.
Is more like a 59 and with cork strips it fits me.

Don't you just love it when a big box of hats arrives?
Yet another batch from our man in Holland.

Thanks Stefan

The crown is 5 1/4",the brim 1 3/4" front and back. The leather is supple and the stitching seems solid. It will end up as trade material since it is too small.
No idea of age, other than a guess of pre-depression. Any input as always is welcome!

Cool find, John. Too bad it's not your size.

Fabulous find, Matt. The liner is on another level; killer!

Ah, goody. That was quick! Have fun with the unboxing, Steve.

Out of interest, what size is it?

Thanks Steve!

It's going to take a while to sort through and post the 8 hats that arrived from Volendam today, but here's the one that started this batch off.

A 1930s Stetson Bowler imported by Sools of Paris. Stefan posted extensive photos of this in the Bowler or Derby Hat thread on the 6th of June. So I'll refer you all to that post for further pics.

Hope the Mona Lisa smile on my face shows how so happy I am with this beauty. Thanks again to Stefan for catching this one for me.

I just provided the assist, Steve. You take it across the goal line.
