Post New Hats Here!

[Steve1857]

You need to post this in the Western Anyone thread. How many chances will you get to do that?

Hopefully, many more Brent. Can you be so kind as to link me to it. There are so many threads on the FL. I don't know where to find them all.

Fabulus Steve! I am searching for quite some time these overwelt curled brim fedoras/lords but no luck as of yet. Great catch as everything in your collection.

Panos, Thank you! Yes they are very difficult to find. After looking for years I only have 3 Wegener Soft Felts of this time period.

[mayserwegener]

A rare and a beautiful find, Steve. A wool mix/heather type look to it. Very appealing. Congrats.

Steve, Thanks! I was very happy to find this one.

[mayserwegener]

That looks amazing and the curled brim and back bow makes it superb!

Randy, Thanks! I really like the brim flange and over welt + brim curl. I posted some outdoor photos.

When you are just about to believe that blue in vintage hats is too tough to score, several might appear. If it also happens to be a special felt finish then you forget all the trouble really soon

Lewis in dark blue I bought from @Ivano. Heather short hair felt

Felt is lightweigt and extremely soft. Straight Crown at around 15cm and brim at 5.3cm

Needless to say I am in love with it. Brim down

Brim up and no side pinches

You can appreciate the actual deep blue color in this one

Best,
Panos

Panos, Super! I really like the form. The felt looks fantastic -> colors, finish and hand.

I was expecting to be posting a Dobbs and a Mallory in this thread today. However, a really wonderful surprise changed that. I bought two hats from Bob Hufford. They arrived today. He very kindly added this to the lot, unbeknownst to me. A Stetson Open Road 4x Beaver Silver Belly! I've been wanting one for a while. What a great surprise and a very kind gesture, Bob. Thank you so much [emoji145]
P.S. Don't worry folks, you'll be seeing the Dobbs and Mallory very soon [emoji4]

Steve, Looks great! Superb looking smooth felt finish.

Steve, Thanks! I was very happy to find this one.

Steve, who wouldn't be. It's a beauty style wise, vintage wise, shape wise, look wise, you name it. Congrats too it was in your size.

Thanks, Steve. It's not my, nor your, usual style, but I'm loving going back to my "roots". It is indeed a very smooth modern Stetson finish. It sits well, too.
Can't thank Bob enough for this one.

Wow is right. And like @PanosChris said, if you ever find another one in a 1/8...........that is such a unique hat that it is bound to generate some attention and lots of discussion. Yes, I hope to see more of your posts in different light. Or, just send it to Eric @Short Balding Guy and he can give us some snow pictures

Thanks, Randy. I am so embracing this one. If only you guys knew how much Western there is in me [emoji145].
You know more than anyone how much I wanted one, my friend. So kind of Bob to send me this one. Hope you'll still keep an eye out for me for others.

Wegener "Start", 58 cm, possibly late 1920s early 1930s. Over Welt Curled Brim with Back Bow. There might be some wool in the felt mix. A mix of colors with rougher clip but a very soft hand. There is some wear but still in very good condition with all original components including the crown patch. I only have two other old Wegener Soft Felts so a rare find.

The paper label is similar to this Wegener "Elasticon" Stiff Felt that belongs to Robert (RLK).

Natural Light

I'm in genuine awe, Steve.

Will do, Steve, that one looks great. Now if you AND Stefan had an OR, I'm quite sure the gravitational forces of the earth would be forever altered

[emoji4]. We Europeans have managed to convince some of you guys in the States who were in doubt that you could rock a Bowler/Derby, Homburg etc or not that you could, so it's only fair that we should show a quid pro quo [emoji145]
