Felt is lightweigt and extremely soft. Straight Crown at around 15cm and brim at 5.3cm

Needless to say I am in love with it. Brim down

Brim up and no side pinches

You can appreciate the actual deep blue color in this one

Wegener "Start", 58 cm, possibly late 1920s early 1930s. Over Welt Curled Brim with Back Bow. There might be some wool in the felt mix. A mix of colors with rougher clip but a very soft hand. There is some wear but still in very good condition with all original components including the crown patch. I only have two other old Wegener Soft Felts so a rare find.

The paper label is similar to this Wegener "Elasticon" Stiff Felt that belongs to Robert (RLK).

That is an absolutely magnificent hat Panoz!!!
The liner is beautiful and i could look at closeups of the felt all day.
Gush, gush.
This is a huge reason i keep hanging around here. To see those unusual makers and the unique skills we do not see often.
I love the classics we all covet and many obtain, but those lesser knowns really do outshine so very many hats.
I love seeing them.

Fabulus Steve! I am searching for quite some time these overwelt curled brim fedoras/lords but no luck as of yet. Great catch as everything in your collection.

It’s official.... I’m in love! [emoji3590] Her name is Penny... and it looks like this is for the long haul... some would even say... Marathon

Here we are together..

Well this beauty arrived yesterday. And here she is right outta the box with no cleaning up at all. Been wearing it all day. Don’t want to take it off.

Here are the specs...

Color light tan

Size 7 fits perfectly [emoji108]

Brim 2 5/8

About 4 1/2 crown as creased

1 1/16 matching ribbon with very cool shark gills pattern

Matching trim on brim

The beautiful tan felt is thin soft and moldable. While not the same... this is about as close as I’ve come across to the felt of my Dobbs gay prince.

It wasn’t too easy to get a look at the manufacturing tag as the liner stitches run through it... but here is what I got

I look forward to many good times with this lovely lady... oh and my wife is ok with her too.

He very kindly added this to the lot, unbeknownst to me. A Stetson Open Road 4x Beaver Silver Belly! I've been wanting one for a while. What a great surprise and a very kind gesture, Bob.
