Hey, Stefan@steur, look at the other unusual custom I ordered from @humanshoes.
It already arrived, I just have to go pick it up.
It was inspired by a friend of mine's avatar.
He's Dutch, but wishes he were a Spansh swordsman.

Made in 100% beaver, not that chafa (google it) rabbit hair they use for tourist hats in Spain nowadays.

Well I have finally joined the Homburg Nation ! Got this Cavanagh that needs a little TLC, but the felt is excellent. I’m going to replace the ribbon after I practice on the Mallory. From my research on The Hatted Prof., looks like early to mid 50’s with the street address on the liner, but no ‘John’ Cavanagh.

The sweat is a little fragile, but after re-hydrating with Neatsfoot Oil I was able to safely flip it for pics and to condition the inside of it. I think it will be fine now.

I also found some historical info on Malmstedt Hat store in Minneapolis. I’ll post more on the Homburg Nation this evening after I come in from raking leaves.

I know I don’t wear it as well as the Master Stefan or Steve, but......

Borsalino Trionfo in morello colour, which is a very dark brown with some cherry tones to it. Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 4,8cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Longhaired finish and the hand of the felt is spectacular. Don't see many Trionfo line Borsalinos in the vintage stores here. The label indicates a late sixties to mid-seventies hat.

This one was sitting on a mannequin in a vintage store and caught my eye. Sometimes things are meant to be.
Echter Mayser wildleder (suede/chamois finish) in a size 61 with a contrasting narrow ribbon and brim binding. Bound brim at just under 7cm and crown 10,5cm at the center dent. The hand to the felt is fabulous and I really like the proportions of this hat.

Congratulations Stefan. "Morello" is one of my favorite colors in the Borsalino range. Some time ago I had found a different one as a felt finish and shape that I left because it was a 58 cm. I almost regret it

Very, very nice Mayser! The felt is excellent even if I can't touch it, but I know it form others sources

Fantastic looking hat, Daniele. The proportions are just right and a heather felt wins bonus points (yes, even if it is in part green).

Great find, Daniele. And indeed quite unusual. Never seen a Borsalino like that before

Stefan both are green, though different The Borsalino is a green so dark that it seems gray, however the color of the "Brughiera" felt means moorland. They are very different in consistency and in my experience they are both from the Cappellificio Cervo which was a master in that type of felt, often in your "hated" color. Borsalino is a master of grays in "Misto" Two rare hats in the Italian production of the heyday

My latest, from @Bill Hughes (again), a '30s Adam: The "Tux Adam."

All black, 2 3/8" brim (my ideal), and all other dimensions in perfect proportion: front pinch right around 4 1/2".

Some pictures with flash (on right), some without (on left), all with a combination of standard incandescent indoor and whiter outdoor-simulation bulbs.

I think the color is more accurate, in this case, without the flash.

Thank you, Daniele. Two very fortunate finds indeed. Morello is a wonderful colour and I hope to find another homburg in that colour that is my size this time.

That is a beauty, Scotty. Great sheen, shape, and diamond crease, too. I assume a "Tux Adam" was designed to be worn with a tuxedo. Nothing at all wrong with the way you're wearing it btw. We just don't often see these tuxedo Fedoras. I'm lucky enough to have a Borsalino one. Thanks for sharing.
