Please help me to confirm the era

This is a suit by Richman Brothers. Can anyone help me confirm the era? I'm not sure if it's a 1940s or later. I've seen some suits of this company in 1951, their labels are black background and golden handwriting. I'm not sure about mine

Hi Justinian,
Based on the more pronounced waist suppression and the curved shoulders, I’d guess the jacket dates to the 1930s or early 1940s; later on, the waistline dropped lower and jackets became boxier. The trousers do look a bit tapered—a style that became fashionable later—but that could be an optical illusion in the photo, or they might have been altered at some point. Didn't you find a union label in the jacket's inside pocket? That could help with dating it...
All the best - Matt

Thank you for your reply! Richman Brothers is not a union member, so unfortunately there are no labels in it. Here's the trousers. I pinched the waist a little to make it fit better.
Regards

Huh, so I learned something new: I didn't know that Richmond—being such a major house—wasn't part of it... Thanks!

In the photo, the trousers actually look rather straight-cut, so I’d like to stick with my idea regarding the date. But then again, that’s just a theory...

Not a suit but it will be something that's made to measure. A new overcoat for winter, greatcoat style. My tailor has sent me a couple of computer generated pics for colour suggestions. I wish he hadn't, trying to select one when both are so appealing ain't easy. Still it's one of those nice problems. I have text him to say I shall peruse the photos.
