^this looks better than I anticipated it would. Far better actually. I do think it wears long but I’ll keep my mouth shut until you give your full review! You are usually quick (as am I) to post thoughts on a win. So I am curious to your impression on this one!

Overall i think it looks nice
BUT, and this is a gripe that pertains to many makers, it’s too long. This design is a motorcycle jacket. At that length, without a two way zipper it is no good on the bike. I understand that the majority of purchasers are not buying them to wear while riding but i don’t understand why the lengths are not more historically accurate.

I'll comment on the length - on paper it's not a very long jacket at all at 59cm or ~23.25" back. But interestingly it wears MUCH longer (something like a whole inch) than my Aero Hooch Hauler with exactly the same back length (that's why I specified this length).
Stock this jacket is 25" back length, which is nuts, at least for this size.
Throwback to this thread I suppose:
60gbp for shortening the jacket if I send it back to Leilah. We shall see. It is one of the 3 main things that bug me about the fit, that's for sure.
I'd remove an inch or so in back body length. Especially in the back, less in the front.

I thought this style came with a two-way zip. It seems to be depicted with one on the RW Website. This is the Rugged Rider III, right? I could be wrong though.

I wouldn’t spend any money on altering the length as you really risk something bizarre. Better spent $ on a two way main zip and just leave the longer length as is. It is no doubt too long but I think it’s easier to salvage this with a zipper than with scissors.

With Aeros, the neckline is higher at the back. That's why I always subtract 1-1.5 cm from the aero back length with other manufacturers if I want the same visual length.
Even if the length is actually too long for this jacket, it still looks good on you.

Wish I had thought/known about it when ordering :)

I omitted the two way zip on purpose as I speced the jacket short enough to not need it. Even at the resulting length I would refuse it - absolutely no need for it unless riding (which I don't do).

I am not too big on historical accuracy, so with that perspective - I think the jacket and the fit looks absolutely great .

I would love to know about the leather - is this the black teacore steerhide? What are your impressions of it , including weight and texture/grain , overall looks and feels ? I've been planning a jacket from Leilah in this leather - would hence like to know your impressions.

Sneak peak of the leather (visually) next to two Vanson CW jackets. That should be a good reference for most folks on TFL lol. Hopefully I can take a shot of the leather next to the gold standard black - black CXL! When I get my Aero back from re-lining.

I'm very interested to see your review of the jacket, and I'm sure you'll already be dealing with plenty of the thoughts/criticisms from here, so I'll keep some of it.

Personally, I really like the fit. I don't ride, so the extra length doesn't bother me. I do wonder how it would look if you layer under it, but you may not even plan to. Also, I take it the pictures are mirrored? Or have you asked for the jacket to be made with the kidney panel on the right instead of the left?

Working on it!
It's mirrored yup, sorry about that. The d-pocket is on the "correct" side :)
The length is not ideal, but far from egregiously long and I'm starting to accept/embrace it as it is.
No plans to layer as this will be my warm weather / t-shirt only jacket.

The leather seems to have nice grain and texture but a desirable amount of shine as well. Looks great in my opinion.
