I wanted to ask you a question, for your marling jacket did you request a customization for the measurements?
Yes I did a custom sizing.

No back and forths actually, I just sent Leilah a detailed pdf based on my experience ordering and subsequent tailoring of my 5* Jacket and that was it.

Very satisfied how she interpolated those dimensions in own design/patterns; she didn't just take the measurements at face value. Very comfortable fitting jacket and great experience.

Happy for you! I love mine and certainly gets a ton of compliments from strangers (which is new for me, I've never been complimented on my clothes before, even the wife is surprised)

Please share some pictures if you can!
It must be the confident coming from wearing a great fitting leather jacket mate! when you feel like a million bucks it shows hehe(and you sure looks like a million bucks in your awesome Marling mate!);)

When doing custom sizes, how do you avoid a large neck hole?
Just providing a neck circumference measurement would suffice?
Actually, I don't want to have to indicate the neckline at all, because it should be in proportion to the rest. Neither Aero nor Lewis Leathers had me specify anything (and it wouldn't have been taken into account).
With all 5* jackets I specified it and sometimes I got it the way I wanted it. With RW I had actually specified it too, but mine were still made in Pakistan and it was ignored with the Lonely Hunter/Roughout Ranger, with the Rugged Rider it worked fine.
I think those huge neck holes are a Pakistani trademark from looking at the manufacturers Instagram pages (which spam me). Why I don't know.
Perhaps because they are on the safe side. Better too big than too small. Maybe also because it makes it easier to hide errors in the pattern... I have no idea ;-)

Appreciate the insight, that actually explains a lot. I did specify mine too, but I didn’t realize how mixed the results can be. So sorry you're getting spammed by those maker pages!

Makes sense they might err on the safe side, but yeah, I guess it’s one of those things where dialing it depends on who's making it. I think that's what fellow loungers said about 5* approaching it as a manufacturer and not as a designer/artisan.

I also sent a pdf with detailed measurements for my order, fingers crossed it turns out sweet!

My Rugged rider also has a slightly too big neck opening. It manifests itself with a little collar gap at the back sometimes. It’s probably the only pattern-related issue that I can find on it.

No problem, but thank you ;-)
They stumble across my Instagram profile and think I have a company. And they want to offer themselves as producers. It's ok in principle anyway, but if they really looked at the profile, they'd read that I'm not a manufacturer but that I'm just doing it for fun. :D

Hello everyone,
Do any of you who have purchased Rugged West jackets also own jackets from other prestigious brands, such as Aero, Double Helix, etc.?
It might be interesting to get your opinion, with a comparison of the leathers, for example.
