only thing i hesitate at it stains, liquid etc, what say ye?

As a confrimed "slob" in some things, usually food, I agree. That's why as much as I'd love that light, bright sommer halfbelt in Deerhide Aero's offering... I know I'd grub it up eventually.

The cut seems to be fairly close to original 1938 Aeros. The caramel colour is lighter than many originals from this contract. The pocket flaps appear a little large, especially from the mid point to the top of the flap.

IMO the Good Wear version is very close to originals.

Thanks. I wonder if they'll iron out those before full production. It's interesting to see Aero looking over their military repro line again; I'd have thought if they can up their accuracy in the eyes of the market, but keep at the same price point, they'll be onto a good thing. Of course, if that's an area of business they want to focus on, Kelso seem to be offering strong competition in and around the lower price-end of the serious repro market, so it would also be a useful thing to be able to compete.

(That said, while my ELC is probably more accurate, I wear the Aero A2 far more often). [huh]

I don't think the market needs Aero's mil repops to be as accurate as others. They're a style, and well made. If you need that accuracy, there's plenty of options out there.

It's all web-fueled pedantry, at the end of the day, Edward.

Some folks worry about nipple snaps on their A2s. Others worry about having "MR" on their Lee jacket labels. Others are happier with Shinki over Horween.

Me? I guess I worry about ALL of those things to a greater or lesser extent.

But feeling comfortable with the look and feel of a garment is what really matters (for me, anyway).

The thing about the net is that whatever thing you are pedantic about, some ba***rd is ALWAYS gonna pop up who is more pedantic than you.

And the daft thing is, he'll be proud of himself.......

Boys will be boys;)

Let me go dust off my framed diploma of my master's degree in stitch counting, with a minor in thread twist and tension.

Agree, I like it even if it isn't 100% accurate according to some. I've never been bothered with the over the top exact copy repro school, with even the mistakes included....? Nice looking jacket and really like the hide color, even though I no longer am interested in A-2's. That color in a civie jacket would be nice.
