I'm finished up to placing the waistband button and sewing on the belt carriers. I decided to attempt Coffin's method of sewing them on last as opposed to catching them in the waistband. Overall, I'm pleased with my first experience making trousers. I learned a lot, especially only having 6 hours of sewing-machine experience before the project, and I have still much more to learn. I think the next pair will be more successful because I at least understand how trousers go together and the problematic spots to which I need to pay close attention.
Fitting: I'm curious to hear from those experienced with fitting as to where I can adjust the pattern. I believe I need to take in material at the central/crotch seam in the front to reduce the bulk around the fly which should also pull the creases toward center, as they are currently off center a bit. The seat had excessive bagginess, so I ended up taking in material there, but there is still puckering. Referring to the left side photo, I'd like more of a linear line down the back instead of following my rump's curvature, but that's an issue I have with RTW trousers as well. I'm not so sure that this won't be helped once the creases are falling in the center. Regarding the cuffs, I ended up cutting off 5" of the legs to reach my inseam, so this created issues with the leg tapper and excessive material at the cuff--something I expected would happen with this pair. Now that I know the pattern needs to be shortened, I'll make that adjustment at the proper location on the pattern.
