Friends,

I have created this to share my mouton that I have in my small collection. The goal is for other members to add and perhaps create a reference collection of mouton, leather types and snaps used in the creation of them.

Buco j24 early 50s. This particular jacket is so thick and pliable puts my other original bucos to shame.

I’ll be contributing to this thread. Most of my vintage jackets are set up to accept collars. Wish I had collar for all of them. I do have a few though.

BTW, you’ve been holding out. More pics of your Buco collection please.

I feel the same. I remember my very first one I remade was for a schott. Those jackets were stolen and one given away. Three times is the charm. I was able to pick one in great shape for less than 200. Soon, this one will have mouton collar and the infamous mouton vest. LOL. This time, I have the proper zips for the heavyweight lining.

My selection of (fixed) mouton collars and linings in Aero models - all variations on either their Slimfit MC and Wayfarer jackets…plus a lone M422a and

A couple more to add here - both Field Leathers reworked Manhattans as custom orders - one in blue Shinki, the other in black pony….

Having 2 Thedi leather jackets, with similar collars, one chestnut brown purchased with a beige removeable mouton collar, the black jacket purchased with 2 removeable collars, a black and a brown. I found out that all 3 collars can be interchanged between both jackets.
2 Jackets + 3 Collars = 8 different looks.

Nice, It makes it easier to have choices when selecting a jacket. The button option is great. I believe the button option shows the quality and craftsmanship of a jacket because it is more labor-intensive design.

Thanks for sharing.
