To those lucky owners of a LW cross zip jacket with detachable mouton collar - would you be kind enough to post some pics showing the construction of the collar, plus how it is attached to the jacket collar?
I spent a small fortune having a new mouton collar made for a vintage Vanson Enfield based on the RM design (see here https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/removable-mouton-collar-construction.116687/), and I’m considering doing the same for a LW SD.
I absolutely love the craftsmanship went into my Vanson mouton collar made- but two things I’d like to change:
1) how/where to attach the collar without having snaps studs pressing against the neck when wearing the jacket without the mouton collar and fully zipped up (if that makes sense)
2) can the mouton collar be attached via 2-3 small buttons sewn into the jacket collar - vs metal snaps? I’m saying this as if I decide to sell this SD I don’t want the aftermarket metal studs to affect the resale value alue
