Lesser Known Leather Jacket Brands

When researching what jackets to buy, it's always easy to find recommendations for the kitchen at well known brands - Schott, Aero, Vanson, etc.

However, there are lots of makers out there that also produce quality goods that just don't get the same publicity. You might even be able to get a great jacket at a lower price by focusing on these secondary brands. So I think it's time we give these makers some love!

I'll start with my recommendation:

Misuri
https://www.misuri.com/

This Italian company is most associated with purses as they worked closely with Grace Kelly for purses last century; however, they make great leather jackets primarily from goat skin.

All of their jackets are made exclusively from Italian leathers and workshops in Florence. Their jackets are strong and lightweight and trend toward "stylish Italian."

I wouldn't call them a discount brand - all of their jackets are on their website are around $1000 USD. However, my experience is that they have a better selection - and discounts - at their store front in Florence. However, since they're less well known, you can frequently find great deals second hand.

What are some new or vintage brands you'd recommend?

Based on the photos I see on Google, the jackets look very underwhelming

I do think Misuri tends to focus on "cleaner" shiloettes and styles ; fewer zippers, more fitted cuts. I think that's overall emblematic of the Italian style. So certainly not for everyone.

What are some of your favorite secondary brands that may have styles you enjoy more?

Plenty of the brands do this. It isn't unique.

Trust pilot scores are nice and all, but they have very little to say about their leather. Having a big upfront discount is just a way to bamboozle tourists.

800eur for this eh? Sorry, not convinced at all.

made in the “silk of leather” also known as goatskin leather - who the hell calls goatskin "silk of leather"?
The two tone coloring makes this men's italian leather jacket one of a kind. - two tone? Where? The tiny bit on the collar?
Personally I wouldn't pay 100eur for this jacket from what I can see.
And all the *******t marketing talk + no info on the leather, the measurements, the lining or anyhing else convinces me 100% that this brand is to be avoided at all costs.
But nice try mister(miss?) - there have been many trying to sneak a brand into TFL that their are associated with and all of them have failed so far. Better luck next time or in the next forum.

I have no affiliation with the brand what so ever. Just a new member of the community that was trying to start a new discussion topic on lesser known brands and providing my own recommendation.

Peace be with you.

Sure buddy, that's what they all say. Would you like to share a jacket that you have from the brand? I'm sure everyone would love to see the awesome 800eur+ quality.

Agree, I am also interested in seeing OP's photos of his actual jacket(s). There have been cases of known makers where their website and stock photo's were/are awful, however in reality their products are much better.

To all the Seppostanis and their Euro Useful Idiots, the brand mentioned supplies the leather used for Maserati shift sticks and the skirt thing around them, if it's good enough for Maserati then it's good enough for jackets
Although I have no idea what a Seppostani, nor a Euro Useful Idiot, is, I stick to my previous statement. I wouldn't wear the jacket shown above even if I was paid for because simply the design is horrendous, at least for me.
The fact that a company provides leather for gear shifts does not necessarily mean that they can design nice jackets.
By the way: I am still waiting to see "the great leather jackets" the OP has and is so enthousiastic about.
