Leather M-65 Field Jacket (by FCL), anyone?

So how do we feel about this 'Blue Willow'?

Having a halfbelt, the collar and back gussets of a '60s cafe racer, zipped handwarmer pockets of a crosszip motorcycle jacket and '30s style zippers I think it's fair to call this a Frankenstein 2.0 jacket.

But that's how purists like myself will look at it. I have to admit that overall it looks like a coherent design if you're not bothered by historical accuracy.

Saw this just today. I didn't think much of it, looks a lot like Fidelity CR from the front but now I see the half-belt thing going on at the back. It actually is early Fidelity with a half-belt added for whatever reason. So weird.

wasn't the one with chest pocket/s called cafe racer jacket and the one with hand warmers called scooter jacket? for the same band collar type.

I didn't know handwarmer pockets on a racing shirt had a name. All I know is that they don't go together :).

Interesting idea on the M65 but I just don't think it, or the other leather-ized patterns shown in this thread, work well in leather. The original materials have the appropriate qualities for the style of jacket in which they're used. I think melton wool is probably the only material that can be reliably substituted for leather in a jacket, and even then only in certain styles (sports jacket, half-belt, pea coat). I feel like you've gotta be a bit of a rich, tasteless doofus to really want one of these ridiculous garments.

seems like a trade name for a band collar jacket with no chest pocket and hand warmers, usually if you type cafe racer, or racing shirt you get one or two chest pockets with or without handwarmers

That’s exactly what my Walter Dyer jacket is, Scooter jacket with two hand warmers without the chest pockets.

But no, I wouldn’t suggest the FC version either. There are so many “scooter” jackets out there already for much less and of decent quality. This seems like a cash grab jacket to me.
