I saw the jacket below on EBAY. The price seems almost to good to be true. Is s jacket like this worth buying?

The pictures are from Tailor Brando, here's the same jacket for basically twice the price - https://tailorbrando.com/products/t...ar-american-retro-mens-genuine-leather-jacket

So this might be a good deal if you get the same jacket for less money. Now, what's the catch? You may not get the same jacket. Or you might get a similar jacket with worse/different qualities (leather, pattern, hardware, stitching...). The only way to find out would be buying both and comparing them next to each other.

It looks like the photos are twice-stolen.

They're Tailor Brando photos, that have then been watermarked by an eBay seller who's used them.

But that's not the same eBay seller that's listed the jacket linked.

Also, there is some pretty damning negative feedback on that eBay seller.

If it was my money I'd spend it elsewhere.

Never heard of Tailor Brando. Checked out the site as linked by Zoro above (thanks, Zoro) and it's one of those websites with absolutely no information about the company, no phone number, no physical location. Next to nothing except says they've been around since 2002! But I've never heard of them!

Then the ebay listing by kats-14 is extremely suspicious. It uses the same photos from Tailor Brando. And the item is listed as "vintage" "19*30". The asterisk placement in the year is also highly suspicious, as they clearly don't want this item to turn up on a 1930 search. And it is listed as both "USA RAF navy". (What does that mean?) And it's location is in Dubai, Saudi Arabia???!!!

This is a ****, I think. Because the item is obviously not vintage, not from the 1930's, probably not even Tailor Brando, or even if it is, all these are big red flags. The ebay seller says the jacket is sheepskin. But the manufacturer site says it's "Batik" horse leather, (whatever that is). Got to be a total **** or a ****py bait & switch at best.

Try not to buy anything from ebay sellers that use stock photos from manufacturers, unless the seller is the manufacturer. Which in this case is certainly not clear. Most real ebay sellers will take photos of the actual item, especially a leather jacket.

Don't walk; RUN AWAY from this listing and from this manufacturer.

Also strange that a vintage jacket is listed as New With Tags, and available in the whole range of sizes.

Presumably it's vintage style.

No, it is too good to be true. Save up and buy a used quality leather jacket, or go vintage—there are quality vintage leather jackets at that price range.

It's a reseller of Chinese jackets rather than a maker. They also are a seller within Aliexpress, but of course you'll pay a bit more. The brand is Jia Shi, which is one of the most popular ones from China as per what I've seen.

For the record, I've actually bought a jacket from Tailor Brando and I'm quite happy with it. I wore the jacket I got from them as recently as last Saturday to have a few drinks with some friends and they are obviously not TFL leatherheads, but they all greatly complimented me on the jacket. It may not be a Vanson, Thedi or RMC but it's quite nice :D

Go through the Chinese jackets thread for a deeper dive into them :)
