The leather looks cool, but I would have given up long before 5 months of discomfort! Do you think the feeling at the shoulders is due to stiffness or a sizing/pattern issue?

Im pretty sure it’s a stiffness issue. It has no footballs and when they sow two pieces of that heavy leather together, say in the armpit it makes a sharp angle. It takes some time and break in to form to your body. I am part way there.

From how much it's pulling at the chest I wonder if you sized too small.

But getting the jacket wet will help.

It might be. Its an issue because of my large shoulders and chest and narrow hips. It does seem to be stretching and relaxing though.

The SH is particularly small in the shoulders. If shoulders don't fit, nothing will fit.

I think that makes sense. The lack of underarm footballs makes a real difference for the Perfectos in the heavier hides.

Yesterday, I wore the 613SH (no footballs) for the first time since I got the 618HH (yes footballs). I was quite surprised how much this creates a restrictive feeling in the whole shoulder/arm/chest area.

Of course, the sleeker construction takes a lot of bulk out of the upper sleeve, so you get an attractive look. You have to compromise somewhere.

I should note I mention the narrow shoulders of the SH/S because that’s why I went up a size in it myself. It’s about 2cm narrower than standard 613/618 of the same size (which just barely fit my shoulders).

How's the jacket feeling now, with another 8 months of wear?

I bought a new burgundy P613S in 2019 (2018?) and it indeed took a long time to become comfortable. At some point it took a turn and feels good now, probably due to many travels, time on the bike, and getting caught in the rain then drying on me.

Though there are still some days when I put it on in its stiff/cold state and I decide I need something more comfortable, so I won't say it's my most comfortable jacket.
