Its been awhile since ive posted, im looking for advice on fit between these two jackets. I recently bought a fox creek grayson in a size 50 regular and i feel like its a little short at the wrists for on the bike. Im working out of town and found a schott 141 in a size 50 long thats about 1.5 hrs away from me. These jackets in the big sizes dont turn up all that often, especially the schott being new with tags. If i want a jacket that fits like the grayson, but with longer sleeves is it worth my time to make 3 hrs round trip to go look at the schott? The fox creek body fits great, but when i reach out the sleaves ride up. Anyone have any experience comparing these two jackets sizing?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

I cannot directly compare the two makers but I can talk about the Schott 141. I had a 141 in Long and the sleeves were perfect for riding and were not too long off the bike. I wear 36-37 inch sleeves in a dress shirt for reference. The naked cowhide of the Schott is very hard to beat in thickness and overall feel. Pic of my 141, I sold it when I lost a lot of weight.

I will add the Schott 141 is not a slim fitting pattern.

Looks like that fits you exactly how a motorcycle jacket should.

I like Schott jackets but I’ve never been completely thrilled with any of the (four) 141‘s that I’ve owned. They were in sizes 42 and 44 regular. I liked the leather, the action back and the overall look of the jacket. It felt fairly heavy and fit good through the body…pretty generous cut for the tagged size. Some of the pattern details could use a bit of improvement.

There seems to be something not quite right where the neck transitions to the shoulder (maybe a lack of transition). It’s like there is some extra material that won’t quite lay flat and it gave me kind of a sloped shoulder look (I still have one of them, I’ll try to get a pic on tomorrow). I also thought the upper arms were excessively generous and the sleeve length was a bit short for a jacket seemingly designed for riding.

Obviously everyone is built a little different, but I went through quite a “vintage USA cafe racer“ stage and tried a lot of similarly styled jackets and found that most of their patterns looked better than the 141 even if the leather itself often fell short. I’m sure others love the 141 but this is one time I’d definitely pick something else over a Schott.
